Equipment

The Buy Menu

The buy menu allows you to purchase equipment using the money you earn for killing people or for accomplishing your mission. By default, pressing the B key will open it. Navigating the buy menu is done with either number keys, or the mouse. Each number has a corresponding item or submenu. In round-based game modes you can only buy equipment when you are in a buying zone. The buying zone is an area around your team's spawn points. Your money display turns yellow when you are in a buying zone. There's also a time limit. In deathmatch game types, equipment can be bought anywhere, anytime.

Weapons

There are four different categories of weapons in Smokin' Guns: pistols, rifles, shotguns, and special weapons. You can only carry two pistols, and one heavy weapon (rifle, shotgun, or Gatling gun) at the same time.

Pistols

There are three different pistols in Smokin' Guns.

Remington 1858 Model

  • Reload: Fast, with preloaded cylinders
  • Rate of Fire: Medium (primary), fast (secondary)
  • Primary Fire: Single shot; Akimbo: Fire left pistol
  • Secondary Fire: Single shot; Faster, but less accurate than primary fire; Akimbo: Fire right pistol

Smith & Wesson Schofield

  • Cost: 18$
  • Capacity: 6
  • Damage: Medium
  • Reload: Fast, with preloaded cylinders
  • Rate of Fire: Medium (primary), fast (secondary)
  • Primary Fire: Single shot; Akimbo: Fire left pistol
  • Secondary Fire: Single shot; Faster, but less accurate than primary fire; Akimbo: Fire right pistol

Colt Peacemaker

  • Damage: High
  • Reload: Slow, one bullet at a time
  • Rate of Fire: Medium (primary), fast (secondary)
  • Primary Fire: Single shot; Akimbo: Fire left pistol
  • Secondary Fire: Single shot; Faster, but less accurate than primary fire; Akimbo: Fire right pistol

NOTE: To reload pistols in akimbo mode, hold down your reload button and press the fire button of the weapon you want to reload.

Rifles

Special Weapons

Bowie Knife
Bowie Knife

  • Cost: 8$ (5 knives)
  • Damage: High
  • Primary Fire: Slash/Throw
  • Secondary Fire: If you have more than one knife you can switch between slashing and throwing mode with the secondary fire button

Dynamite Stick
Dynamite Stick

  • Cost: 10$ (5 sticks)
  • Damage: Depends on distance (Extremely high at close range)
  • Primary Fire: Throw dynamite stick
  • Secondary Fire: Light dynamite stick

NOTE: An unlit stick can be thrown & then exploded by shooting it, throwing a lit molotov on it, or by another stick of lit dynamite. Try shooting a stick of dynamite in another player's hand! Dynamite can also explode under water.

Molotov Cocktail
Molotov Cocktail

  • Cost: 10$ (5 bottles)
  • Damage: Medium
  • Primary Fire: Throw Molotov cocktail
  • Secondary Fire: Light Molotov cocktail

NOTE: Unlit Molotovs can be thrown & then be ignited by throwing a lit molotov or stick of dynamite onto it.

Gatling Gun
Gatling Gun

  • Cost: 53$
  • Capacity: 25
  • Damage: Very high
  • Reload: 25 Round magazine
  • Primary Fire: Shouldered: Deploy Gatling gun; Mounted: Fire
  • Secondary Fire: Disassemble the Gatling gun so you can carry it with you

NOTE: To mount an already deployed Gatling gun, move behind it, point your crosshair at it, and when your crosshair turns yellow press the "use" key.

Items

There are three different items in Smokin' Guns that can help you in combat.

Boiler Plate

The boiler plate is a piece of metal that you put on your torso. It offers some protection, but only for your torso. The rest of your body is still vulnerable. The boiler plate will absorb some damage completely, and then eventually become useless.
Price: 15$

Ammunition Belt

This item doubles the amount of ammuntion you can carry. It comes with full ammuntion for all of the guns you are carrying when you buy it.
Price: 10$

Scope

The scope is a device used for sniping and can only be attached to the Sharps rifle. If you own a Sharps rifle and a scope, then just press your "use scope" key (default Enter) to attach the scope to the rifle. Now you can zoom in by pressing the secondary fire button.
